Why the Ranger Midsize, with full-size habits.
The Ranger is sized to park in town and fit a narrow trail, but it still pulls a camper or a boat. Every trim runs a 10-speed automatic, and the XL, XLT and Lariat all reach the same 7,500 lb towing rating once the Trailer Tow Package is on.
7,500 lb of towing
XL, XLT and Lariat tow 7,500 lb with the Trailer Tow Package, on either the 2.3L or the 2.7L.
1,767 lb of payload
The 2.3L 4x2 carries the most; the 2.3L 4x4 is close behind at 1,763 lb.
Power in the bed
Pro Power Onboard puts a 400 W outlet in the bed, standard on Raptor and available on the other trims.
FX4 now on XL
For 2026 the FX4 Off-Road Package reaches the XL, so the work truck can have off-road shocks and a locking rear differential too.

Is a midsize truck enough?
For a lot of drivers in Harrison County, it is. The Ranger tows 7,500 lb with the Trailer Tow Package, enough for many campers and boats, and it is a shorter truck to park and to fit down a narrow lane. The trade is cab and bed size: every Ranger is a five-seat SuperCrew with a five-foot bed.
