Yet again, the Ford F-150 has taken the number one spot in U.S. News & World Report's ranking of full size pickup trucks. There are some changes you'll see across every new 2020 trim, such as the all-new 10-speed automatic transmission now coming standard on all engines.
Here is the breakdown of the main differences between the seven F-150 trim levels.

2020 Ford F-150 XL
The base XL is intended as a commercial or contractor vehicle, meaning it is a lowest price option designed more for work than for play. This truck focuses more on raw engine power than the frills of consumer technology. The XL and the XLT are the only two trim levels that allow for all three cab and all three bed configurations.
XL options include power windows and locks, vinyl upholstery, voice-activated SYNC system, USB port, tailgate step, and trailer brake assist. The BoxLink option provides built-in tie downs to more safely secure cargo. The XL also has a new appearance package for 2020.

2020 Ford F-150 Lariat
The Lariat features a base engine upgrade, coming standard with the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine producing 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
The Lariat marks the first trim level to come standard with Ford's CoPilot360 advanced safety feature package. It is also available with the V8 engine, a turbodiesel and a 350-hp V6. Optional features include blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, surround-view parking camera, heated steering wheel, and premium audio.
Standard features that begin with the Lariat trim include:

2020 Ford F-150 Platinum
The 2020 Ford F-150 comes with two engine options. The unusual three-cylinder option maximizes fuel efficiency without sacrificing power. In fact, this base engine can achieve a 0-60 mph time of just 8.4 seconds, making it more than enough for highway driving. The upgraded four-cylinder comes in at 6.9 seconds with standard all-wheel drive and enough torque to tow 3,500 lbs. Both engines are paired with a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission.
Available starting with the Platinum trim is the moon roof. Other options remain the same as the King Ranch.

2020 Ford F-150 Limited
The most plush of the F-150 lineup, the Limited maxes out the features. This pickup is available only with the 450-hp V6 turbo engine, which is new for 2020. Other standard features on this top-tier trim include:

The Raptor is perhaps the most unique among the 2020 Ford F-150 trims. This pickup is designed to off-road, so it has advanced performance features while still maintaining many of the luxury features from the Limited trim as optional add-ons.
