In our previous blog post, we talked about the variety of trim levels of new Ford F-150 trucks that are available for sale or lease in our new inventory. We also made quick reference in that post to the engine options available to F-150 buyers. What we didn’t do, however, was go into detail regarding the performance capabilities of this most iconic of Ford trucks. Thus, we want to take this time to introduce you to the family of engines available for your 2017 F-150. As we mentioned, there are four engines that you can choose for your truck, but different engines are available for certain F-150 trim levels. Some come standard with a trim, but there is also an available upgrade to a bigger engine, while some trims have only one choice of engine. Most F-150 trim levels, however, provide several options of engines. Essentially, there are two groupings of engines: the EcoBoost® engines are one group, and the Ti-VCT (or twin independent variable cam timing) are the other. For the EcoBoost®, both 2.7 and 3.5-liter V6 version are available. The Ti-VCT engines, however, come in either a 3.5-liter V6 or 5.0-liter V8. Each one of these motors has a unique level of output for horsepower and torque, and determining what engine is right for your driving needs or wants is a matter of taking test drives in different F-150 trucks to get a feel for how they perform. We’ll be happy to arrange these test drives for you today at Heritage Ford.
